Being unique is all about being different. What we think, what we do, and what we desire is not the same for everyone. To be unique is the only one of its kind, unlike anything else. Everyone is special in their own way. So how do you kick-start this transformation?

Every individual has their own perspective, largely fueled by the way they have experienced and navigated the world. Nobody is going to make the same choices that you make. Every good and bad experience, every moment of strength and weakness, every triumph and failure, every bit of knowledge and wisdom you acquire is the willingness to accept, learn and think outside the box. Being unique is a wonderful feeling, especially in a world where many people struggle to be themselves. The greatest filter you could ever use to express your own personality is by being yourself. If you want to experience your true purpose in life, step out of the herd and present yourself differently to the world. It would raise your self-esteem, and facing the world would be much easier. Undoubtedly you will leave an everlasting impression on others just by simply being yourself.

Being unique and different has become a scarcity in today’s world. People go their whole lives trying to be someone else, simply because they believe they aren’t enough. Part of being different is knowing and accepting that not everyone will be happy for you. For that reason, there will always be someone smarter, richer, younger, and prettier than you. But there will never be another you. Stay true to who you are. If you desire to make a difference in the world, choose to be realistic. Do not emulate others. Enjoy being yourself! That’s where your greatest power can be found. If you dare to be different, it demands to stand alone. But that’s where your uniqueness can thrive.

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be”

                                                                                                 – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The above quote emphasizes that your destiny is up to you. Indeed, this is something that we all need to remind ourselves of, every day. Firstly, it is impossible to be genuinely happy if you don’t accept and embrace who you are. Learning to acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses is the key to embracing your uniqueness. It can sometimes feel daunting to embrace your uniqueness because you worry about other people’s opinions. Being unique is what matters than being perfect. Because nobody is perfect. Everyone has flaws, and that’s not bad at all. Flaws are actually what makes us human, with unique characteristics. Imagine everyone was perfect – how ugly would this world be? It would be a sheer monotony. Self-acceptance can be difficult. But when you embrace it wholeheartedly, it establishes your own identity.

Being unique gives a sense of purpose in life. Our uniqueness can be found in our hobbies, creativity, thoughts, beliefs, and even how we show up every day in the world. Recognize and embrace those attributes and talents that make you an extraordinary person. In conclusion, happiness is being unique. Every individual has their own unique, creative gifts which are influenced by their own vision.

If you are nurturing yourself to be a better person, practice polishing your skills.

  • Enjoy being you, instead of fake and deceptive.
  • Never shy away from your talents and skills.
  • Value your opinions.
  • Don’t get distracted by judgments.
  • Broaden your horizons by trying interesting things.
  • Embrace your imperfections and combat your challenges.
  • Feed your mind with positive affirmations.
  • Never compare yourself to anyone. Aspire to create.
  • Trust in your journey.

The world needs you in all your flawed glory. Feel free to live your life in the best manner you can. Provided that the way you live doesn’t harm anyone. Being unique is a wonderful feeling. But in that pursuit, you should be a true, authentic, and real individual. Celebrate and accentuate your uniqueness. It is an important concept to realize because you will never please yourself if you are constantly trying to please others. Furthermore, you need to stand up for what you believe in to make a difference. Big or small, enjoy everything that you have that makes you, YOU. Your attitude might inspire somebody else to embrace themselves!

“Don’t dilute yourself for any person or any reason. You are enough! Be unapologetically you.” – Steve Maraboli
