Culture of our School the definition and the culture itself as decided by the team in TIPS.
Our school as we experience is very much growing in the direction of a progressive school as we build on genuine student-centered culture, teaching and learning experiences. We are committed to help our children prepare to approach the unknown yet exciting future in their own best way. Hence our motto is “Develop, Nurture, Celebrate Life Long Learners”!!
We believe in “Equity and Excellence” and the organizational culture is evolved around it. This is the key element of our school’s success. We have a “good culture” since our teachers are expressing a shared vision and students are succeeding and are well behaved and have a good character.
Within our strong structure, what exactly people believe and how they act depend on the messages — both direct and indirect — that the leaders and other stakeholders in the organization send. A good culture arises from messages that promote traits like:

- Being one large family,
- Taking ownership and showing responsibility
Our Heads execute a cultural vision because they see a significant correlation between organization culture and an organization’s performance. In our strong culture, there are many, overlapping, and cohesive interactions, so that knowledge about the organization’s distinctive character – and what it takes to thrive in it – is widely spread.
Culture Is Connections
- Beliefs, values, and actions will spread the farthest and be tightly reinforced when everyone is communicating with everyone else. In a strong school culture, leaders communicate directly with teachers, administrators, counselors, and families, who also communicate directly with each other.
Broadly defined, positive school cultures are conducive to professional satisfaction, morale, and effectiveness, as well as to student learning, fulfillment, and well-being. The following list is a representative selection of a few characteristics commonly associated with positive school cultures:
- The individual successes of teachers and students are recognized and celebrated.

As members of TIPS family, let us focus productively on set targets and refrain from gossiping, commercial/social networking with team members, teasing/bullying and other uncalled for talking about other team members while at school or outside school.

Culture behind a happy student life!
- Students are consistently held to high academic expectation, and a majority of students meet or exceed those expectations
- Our school will support and inspire students to move on with academics and non-academics for learners of all levels – based on their Special Education Needs, Open school suitability, support with in-school teachers, boarding support schedule – every student and teacher to move on with relentless hope for progression!
- Counselors are available full time to handhold students and counsel to inspire on moral intelligence, provide pastoral care for emotional balance and ensure they are counseled on behavioral requirements. They will be collaborating with teachers, parents and work together to provide stress-free environment in all matters. Where necessary, school will seek appropriate support from student assessments or from outside network to seek best practices in knowing the child or take actions towards providing peaceful environment for them and as well as for others in the community. Every teacher or a boarding house parent should be a Counselor. We should listen to the children, address them with love, care and confidentiality. Seek support of specialists or heads wherever required.

- Balanced scheduling of classes up to class 8 will ensure 50% outside classroom activities chosen by students themselves based on creativity and activity interest in their best time of work hours or happy hours!!
- TIPS environment will and should never emotionally threaten any staff or child. Treat children as adults and respect their space and choices.
- Open forums and Orientations to be made more engaging for parents. Orientations can include guest speakers giving valuable inputs for parents on different areas. Should provide confidence to the child so that he/she happily brings parents for PTM.
- Be polite and show love and care for parents too. Treat parents as our partners and provide a real progression of the child but always end with assuring them that we are there to take care.
- Empower students to include and persuade parents in their decisions and student-parent communication to be encouraged. Happy student and happy parent and happy community culture always help us go next level !!
- Hold the Motto “Develop, Nurture, Celebrate Life Long Learners” and ethos (mentioned above) of the school close to our heart and introspect regularly whether we are following it. We need to include Motto in all our presentations.
- Observation note and portfolios to be carried forward till the child passes out of the school.
Some of the routine and practices that go to form the character and culture of TIPS
(In fact, we can say that these good practices go to make other people’s life happy and make our own life happy as well – happy morning, noon, evening and night then becomes real or meaningful. We can then believe that “Happy Day” comes from the bottom of our heart and is not just a lip service of a token service). We should always say what we “mean” and keep our words.
Being happy is pretty tough and making others happy is all the more a tall order.
Happiness is from within. We are in control.
However, this is the sole purpose of our life. We are created to love each other and help each other. Staying happy and making others happy is just the same. Happiness is contagious and if we are happy or chose to be happy we will only experience happiness. Nothing can change your state of mind.
“Welcome”shall be akin to TIPS.
This is also the “Hallmark of TIPS” = “Welcome” is the unique attribute/feature, distinguishing characteristic of TIPS.
Welcoming means pleasing, promising or refreshing. We are always to our guest and visitors at any time. That is the reason we place great importance to the “welcome drink” provided with a smile to all who enter our doors.
- We salute or greet everyone we meet (be it the top most important person or the least of our sisters and brothers- irrespective of caste, color or creed) Happy Morning or Happy Noon or Happy Evening or Happy night or Happy Day.
- We offer our guests a welcome drink and make them comfortable.
- If we see anyone waiting unattended, we go up to them and politely without making them feel intimidated, and ask them why and who are they waiting for and politely offer to help them. “How may I help you?” Madam/Sir.
- Please clean up after you use anything or when you finish dinner or lunch.
- Kindly pick up any litter you may find on the road or classroom or anywhere in the campus for that matter. Put them in the bin. We will be an example and our green campus will become a clean green campus. Thank you.
- The last five minutes of the school shall be used to clean up and clear up all the mess in our classroom. It will be a fresh start for the next day. The teacher and the student do this duty together.
- We shall be punctual always and as our hallmark we shall try to be 5 minutes before the appointed time. Thanks.
- Remember always to use the 5 Golden words:
- Thank you – When someone does a favor to you or helps you or says nice things about you. E.g. For Mum: Thank you for all the sacrifices you make for me. Thank you for your good upbringing. When someone thanks you, please say, “You are welcome”.
- Sorry! – When you disappoint someone or fail to do something you promised or fail to keep your word. To God we say sorry for our sins/failings.
- (May I…. – May I give you a hand when you feel tired and allow you to take rest? May I wake up you at night the way you woke up me when I used to be sick or when I had an exam the next day?”
- Please – Please be by my side, please may I help you, please may I have a pen, please allow me to play, and when someone offers you help then say “Yes Please” when you need it or “No thank you” when you don’t want it.
- Excuse me – when you burp or sneeze or yawn in public say, “Excuse me” or “sorry” or “Pardon Me”. When you are a hindrance or cross someone’s path accidentally you say the same – sorry.
- Please remember to say “God bless you” when someone sneezes. You say this meaning that you thank God for bringing this person back to life. In that split second when she/he sneezes you must know she/he has stopped breathing – dead and has come to life.
- Always cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough. Also say, “Sorry”. Thanks.
- Be always courteous and answer people respectfully and respond to all the emails that you may receive or phone calls you may have missed.
- Pre – KG to Grade 5 Educators should read a story book every day and narrate one new or creative story during the Circle Time on all Saturdays and inculcate the habit to use the library and recommend the names of best books to other teachers circle time to be held Grade–wise
- Educators shall meditate every Wednesdays and Saturdays at the end of the day for 10 minutes – stay back time. Prayer meditation shall be taught, and it should be uniform across all campuses.

- To respect secularity, students can also mindfully thank and seek blessings in their own way and in their preferred language. Translation of the above prayer:
- O mother Parvati, you are Annapurna, the bestower of food. You are always full of abundance, you are the life of Shiva. Dear Mother, through this sacred food, bless us with the boons of wisdom and objectivity/renunciation” [this translation is from science of living]

- Dear God,
- We thank you for the gift of this meal and also the hands that prepared it with care.
- Gratitude is a virtue that can amaze you and work miracles/wonders for you.
- When you get up in the morning and say thank you to God and start the day with cheer and smile, I guarantee (the Universe guarantees) that your day will be filled with “thank you”. This means that you have had a wonderful day where you have been forced to say many thanks until the end of the day.
- Humility is yet another virtue which is important for an Educator – both to be a best friend of your students and learn humbly from them and simply smile and thank anyone who has done you a favor.
